LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The Nanooks hockey team picked up a 2-0 shutout victory over the St. Lawrence Saints (2-12-1, 1-5-0 ECAC) on Friday, Nov. 28. With the win, the Nanooks improved to 3-8-1 on the season.
How it Happened
Both sides skated to a scoreless first period in the Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center. Both sides also posted six shots on goal. In the second, the Nanooks scored both of their goals on 11 shots.
William Fleet got the scoring started at the 1:25 mark, firing his first-career goal from the point.
Davis Borozinskis tallied the assist on the eventual game-winner. Five minutes later,
Michael Citara made it 2-0 Nanooks.
Jackson Anderson and
Peyton Platter picked up the assists on the goal. In the second,
Lassi Lehti stopped all seven shots. He'd stop all six shots in the third as well, closing out the shutout win. Neither side capitalized on the power play; Alaska went 0-4 on the man-advantage and killed all five opportunities for the Saints.
Inside the Box
- Lassi Lehti finished the night with 19 saves. The shutout win was his third-career shutout with the Nanooks and his first of this season.
- This shutout was the Nanooks' first since Oct. 19, 2024, of last season at Notre Dame (W, 1-0).
- Michael Citara's goal gave him his team-leading fifth goal of the season and team-leading 12th point of the year.
- Chase Dafoe won 13 of 21 faceoffs today, leading the Nanooks. As a team, the Nanooks won 35 of 58 bouts.
