LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The Alaska Nanooks won the 2025 Adirondack Winter Invitational with a 3-2 win over Clarkson on Saturday, Nov. 29 to go 2-0 this week in the Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center.
How it Happened
The Nanooks struck first in the opening 20 minutes of the championship game.
Michael Citara continued his hot scoring streak for the Nanooks with a goal only 2:11 into the first.
Peyton Platter and
Noah Barlage picked up the assists as the 'Nooks held an early 1-0 lead. Just less than four and a half minutes later, Clarkson found he equalizer on a Matthew Mayich goal. The 1-1 tie stood until the final 1:34 of the first when the Golden Knights grabbed the 2-1 lead on a Jace Letourneau goal. Alaska challenged a potential high-stick on the goal, but it was deemed a good goal after review.
In the second, the Nanooks scored the lone goal.
Michael Citara picked up his second goal of the night making it 2-2 8:48 into the middle stanza.
Misha Danylov picked up the primary on a beautiful pass to the streaking Citara.
Lucas Sorace picked up the secondary on the equalizer. After nearly a full period of play, the Nanooks scored the game-winner 17:28 into the third.

Inside the Box
- Lassi Lehti picked up his second win of the weekend with the 21-save performance. He made nine saves in the first, five in the second, and seven in the third, keeping Clarkson off the board after two goals in the first.
- Michael Citara scored a pair of goals tonight, his third multipoint game of the season. This was his first multi-goal game of the season. He now has seven goals, seven assists, and 14 points on the year. All totals lead the Nanooks.
- Rylen Roersma led the Nanooks with nine faceoff wins. He won nine of his 17 faceoffs. Clarkson won the faceoff battle tonight, winning 38 of the 63 faceoffs.
- Alaska blocked nine shots tonight. Peyton Platter led with two blocked shots.
What's to Come
The Nanooks return home next Saturday for their final home game of 2025. They host Grand Canyon before hitting the road for a matchup with Union on Dec. 12-13.
