FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics is now accepting nominations for the Nanook Hall of Fame Class of 2026. All submissions are due by April 30, 2026, to be considered for induction.

Each submission will be reviewed by the Selection Committee, which consists of University and Department staff, former Hall of Fame inductees, and select community members. This year's class will be declared and honored as the 13th class of the Nanook Hall of Fame. The induction event is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2026, with the exact date and location to be determined.
"We look forward to building off of the foundation we rebuilt last year with the Class of 2025," said Nathan Pearsall, the Nanooks' Sports Information Director. "Last year we inducted a class of 10, with nine individuals and one historic team, and this year, we intend on continuing that momentum by recognizing another outstanding group of Nanooks whose impact has shaped our department's rich history."
The Nanook Hall of Fame includes the likes of; Dan Jordan (Rifle), Bente Heller (Swim), Darryl Lewis, Sr. (Men's Basketball), Keith Street (Hockey), Sue (Murphy) Stanton (Women's Basketball), Sam Harthun (Volleyball), and Tyler Kornfield (Cross Country/Ski). The Nanooks Hall of Fame was established on Jan. 9, 2008, to honor and preserve the memory of the men and women who, through their outstanding contributions both in intercollegiate athletics and community involvement, have brought honor and distinction to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
It exists to recognize not only outstanding contributions of student-athletes, but the contributions of coaches, administrators, athletic staff, community members, and others who, positively, have promoted the mission of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Alaska Nanooks.
