ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks Nordic skiing teams started 2025 in Anchorage at the U.S. Nationals today, with the men's and women's teams competing in the freestyle individual skate 10k. The Nanooks ended the first day in fourth place with 123 total points.
On the men's side, Philipp Moosmayer led the Nanooks with a 22:34.1, placing 13th in the race. Ben Dohlby followed in 14th place, finishing the 10k in 22:35.2. Cole Flowers was the next Nanook to cross the line, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 23:22.4, while Aidan Hay posted a 23:31.9 for a 26th-place finish. Josh Baurick and Blake Hanley rounded things out for the 'Nooks, taking 36th and 37th with times of 24:15.4 and 24:23.9, respectively. The men finished with 54 points, placing fifth in the race.
The women placed fourth as a team, tallying 69 points. Kendall Kramer posted a second-place finish for the Nanooks, completing the race in 24:41.0. Tabitha Williams crossed the line in 15th place, finishing in 26:29.4. Elsie Weiss and Aila Berrigan took 27th and 28th in the race with times of 28:59.5 and 29:06.0, respectively. Lucca Duke placed 33rd, recording a finishing time of 32:32.3.
Both teams race in the classic sprint on Saturday.
