FAIRBANKS - University of Alaska Fairbanks men's basketball head coach
Greg Sparling will not be returning for the 2024-25 season.
"We thank Coach Sparling for his years of service to UAF and wish him the best in his future endeavors," said Brock Anundson, Alaska Director of Athletics.
Sparling served as the Nanooks' head coach for six seasons. During his tenure, he led the 'Nooks to the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball championship and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
"Winning the GNAC title and getting the Nanooks all the way to the NCAA Division II west region championship game are certainly among the highlights of my career," Sparling noted. "I want to thank my players, our fans and all Nanook boosters for the support they've shown me during my time at UAF."
Prior to arriving at UAF, Sparling spent 24 seasons as head coach at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.
