Cech-er's Return
Long time voice of the Nanooks,
Bruce Cech, will return to the Carlson Center for the 2023-24 finale and call the game in-person, his first game live at the Carlson since March 4, 2024 when the 'Nooks defeated Lindenwood. Welcome back, Bruce!Â
Last Time Out
The Nanooks are fresh off of their first-ever road trip to Augustana. They took on the Vikings in Sioux Falls, S.D. and tied game one, 2-2.
Kyle Gaffney and
Harrison Israels both tallied goals in regulation before neither side grabbed the win in overtime. In the shootout,
Brady Risk and Dafoe scored in the shootout with Dafoe's being the winner. On night two, the Nanooks sent
Lassi Lehti into net and he pitched his second shutout this season, blanking the Vikings for a 2-0 win.
T.J. Lloyd got the scoring started with his third goal of the season; this proved to be the game-winner. Israels added an empty-net goal with just over 30 seconds left in the third to close the door for the win.Â

- The Nanooks come into the week's games as the 28th-best scoring offense in the nation, scoring 3.03 goals per game. They pair that with the 18th-best scoring defense, allowing 2.62 goals per game.Â

- Lassi Lehti has two shutouts in four starts this season. His two shutouts is good for 17th in nation. Pierce Charleson has one as well, good for 37th.
- Faceoffs are a big part of the Nanooks' game; they are winning 53% of the draws this season, good for 11th in the NCAA DI and second among independent teams, trailing only LIU (54.6%).
- Israels has 335 wins in the face-off circle this season, good for 26th in the nation.Â
Meet the Skyhawks
Stonehill comes into this week's matchup with a 2-32-0 record (1-31-0 NCAA DI). They grabbed their first Division I win over an opponent this season on Saturday, Feb. 10 with a 4-2 victory over the Lindenwood Lions. Stonehill is led by Frank Irelan, who in 34 games, has posted nine goals and assists for a team-high 18 points. His nine goals is also a team-lead and is followed by Henri Schreifels with eight. He follows with 16 points on eight goals and assists. Greg Japchen leads the Skyhawks with 11 assists for 14 points. The only other skater over 10 points is Dean Schwenninger with 12.Â
In net, Dylan Meilun has seen the most time, appearing in 24 games, recording a 2-22-0 record on an .876 save percentage and 4.89 GAA. Gavin Fitzpatrick has made 14 appearances for an 0-10-0 record, .820 save percentage and 7.47 GAA.Â
Shoot, Score, Win
The Nanooks are 9-7-2 when outshooting their opponents this season. They are 5-7-1 when being outshot. The 'Nooks are also winning when they score early, posting an 11-6-1 record when scoring first. They are 4-8-2 when opponents score first.Â
