MIDWAY, Utah - The Nanooks men's and women's ski teams participated in the RMISA Qualifiers on the final day of the U.S. Ski National Championships at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. 

The two sides competed in classic sprints.

Kendall Kramer and Mariel Pulles led the way for the women's team in the classic sprints as they both made an appearance in the quarterfinals. Pulles would advance to the semifinals before her placement. She had a qualifying time of 4:42.39 before a quarterfinals time of 4:33.81 and semifinals time of 4:33.40, giving her a fourth-place finish. Kramer posted a 10th-place finish with a qualifying time of 4:51.61 and a quarterfinals time of 4:45.16.

Five other athletes alongside Kramer and Pulles competed in the women's race. Tabitha Williams was the next Nanooks finisher, taking 22nd-place with a qualifiying round time of 5:08.31. Luise Graef, Aila Berrigan and Rosie Fordham took 25th, 26th and 27th, respectively. Graef finished in 5:10.62, Berrigan finished in 5:11.73 and Fordham finished in 5:13.20.

Elsie Weiss was the final racer for Alaska to finish; she took 29th with a time of 5:22.24.

In the men's race, no Nanooks made it past the qualifying round. Mike Ophoff was the top-finisher, taking 17th-place with a time of 4:14.10. Christopher Kalev followed in 20th with a time of 4:16.72 and Ben Dohlby was the final Nanooks racer in the top-25, finishing in 4:21.79. Josh Baurick was the final top-30 appearance for the Nanooks, taking 30th-place with a time of 4:31.33 and Jace Peters followed behind in 31st, rounding out the Nanooks racers. He finished in a time of 4:36.58.

The Nanooks are back in action on Jan. 12-13 at the University of Utah Invitational.
