BISCAYNE BAY, Fla. - The Nanooks swim team will have two representatives at the CSCAA Open Water Championships this Sunday, Dec. 17.
Tori Shoemaker and Payton Wojciechowicz will participate for the Nanooks and are newcomers to the Championship. Wojciechowicz qualified in the 1000-yard freestyle with a qualifying time of 10:22.0 and Shoemaker qualified in the 1650-yard freestyle with a qualifying time of 17:51.2. Participation is limited to current NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA member institutions who meet the specific event qualifying criteria. All student-athletes must be eligible as certified by their member institution. Athletes must have achieved one of the qualifying times between Jan. 1, 2023 and the time of entry deadline.
Swimmers will compete as individuals while being entered into team events. Team events will be conducted concurrently with individual events, with the results achieved in the individual event used to compute the team scoring. Individual champions shall be determined and awarded in women's and men's competitions. Awards shall be awarded to all first-through-eighth-place finishers in each individual event.
