FAIRBANKS - Dorka Dancsok has officially qualified for the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon in a  release. Dancsok used a time of 4:23.31 in the 400-yard IM to earn her spot at the NCAA Championships, and her B Cuts in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM mean she was invited to compete in four events.

"It's great to have the Nanooks back at NCAA Champs," said acting head coach Logan Indest. "Dorka has been putting in a tremendous amount of work all three seasons she's been at UAF. It's great to see that work be rewarded and I am excited to see her perform on the biggest stage."

Dancsok has been a consistent performer for the Nanooks this season, accumulating multiple personal bests and program records in her third season in Fairbanks. The junior from Budapest, Hungary, set the Patty Center Pool record for the 400-yard IM on October 31 vs. Simon Fraser, posting a 4:28.39. She went on to set the program record in the 400 IM at the UNLV Invitational on December 16, swimming to a time of 4:24.90, and then bested that mark at the PCSC Championships on February 12, finishing in 4:23.31 to set the school record and take home gold in the event. Dancsok becomes the first Nanook to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Charlotte Fletcher-Stables in 2023-24.

The championships will run from Tuesday, March 10, to Saturday, March 14, at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind., with Dancsok competing from the 11th to the 14th.
