ANCHORAGE - The Nanooks hockey team heads to Alaska Anchorage for the second leg of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup. This will be the first of two trips to Anchorage for the Nanooks and will be games three and four of the season series with UAA.

Last Time Out
Alaska is back in their home state after being swept on the road by Northern Michigan on Nov. 17-18 in Marquette, Mich. The Wildcats took both games against the Nanooks 3-1.

- Harrison Israels is tied for fourth in goals scored in NCAA DI with his 10 goals through 12 games. He tallied a pair at Northern Michigan. His 0.83 goals per game is fifth in the nation.

The Nanooks could maintain the cup for the 13th-straight season with a sweep of UAA in Anchorage. If the 'Nooks win both games, they'll have won four of the six matchups with the Seawolves this season.
Scoring Leaders
Brady Risk leads the Nanooks skaters with 15 points through a dozen games. He's scored five goals and tallied 10 helpers. Two of his five goals have come on the power play. His 10 assists is also a team-high.
Harrison Israels follows with 13 points, tied with
Anton Rubtsov for second on the team in points. Israels leads the way with 10 goals scored through 12 games. He's posted a .286 shot percentage through a dozen games and is the mainstay in the faceoff circle with a team-high .578 winning percentage and 126 wins in the circle. Rubtsov follows Risk with nine assists. His four goals gives him 13 points, tying him with Israels.
Scouting the Opponents
Alaska Anchorage comes into this weekend's matchup fresh off of a split at #6 Wisconsin. They knocked-off the nationally-ranked Badgers 1-0 on Nov. 24, 2023 before Wisconsin returned the shutout favor and beat UAA 5-0 on Nov. 25. Ben Almquist is leading the scoring for the Seawolves with 14 points. His nine assists is a team-high and his five goals is tied for second. Maximilion Helgeson leads the goal-scoring efforts for UAA as he's tallied seven with five assists for 12 points.
Jarred Whale is 5-5-1-1 in goal for UAA and leads Independent goalies with a .919 save percentage. He's also posted a 2.62 GAA with 340 saves. Joey Lamoreaux follows with four appearances this season, going 0-3-0-0 in net. Greg Orosz has made two apperances in net for the Seawolves, going 1-1-0-0.
