Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of nearly a month off from NCAA competition. Their last NCAA contest came at home on Oct. 13-14 and resulted in a pair of victories. In their season-opener, the Nanooks defeated the Buckeyes 4722-4708. They were led by Sára Karasová who posted an individual score of 1184 and took second in the individual standings. On day two, the Nanooks defeated OSU 4723-4715 and were led by Karasová and
Rachael Charles as the junior/sophomore duo took first and second in the individual standings. Karasová fired an aggregate score of 1187 with Charles following with an aggregate of 1185.Â

- This is the first head-to-head matchup for Alaska and TCU since the 2020-21 season when the Nanooks fell to the Horned Frogs 4722-4703 and 4730-4685.Â
- Alaska is looking for their first head-to-head win over TCU since the 2013-14 season when they traveled to Fort Worth and knocked off TCU 4692-4646.
- Karasová currently ranks sixth in NCAA rifle for aggregate averages with an average of 1185.5 through two matches this season. Charles follows in second for Alaska and ninth in the nation with an aggregate average of 1184.Â
- Karasová is currently fourth in the nation in air rifle with an average of 597. Charles leads the 'Nooks in the smallbore national rankings as she's currently seventh with an average of 589.
- Marina Gonzalez Mazo follows in third for overall aggregate average on the Nanooks roster. She currently holds an average of 1177. She fired a season-best 584 in smallbore on Oct. 13 before firing a season-best in air (596) on Oct. 14.Â
- Alaska is averaging a 4722.5 through the opening matches of the season.Â
- West Virginia holds the top-spot in team averages with a 4743.4 and TCU follows with a 4734.25.

Schedule Addition
The Alaska Nanooks and Air Force Falcons rifle teams have agreed to a Dec. 6, 2023 matchup in Colorado.Â
"We are pleased to be able to add a match at Air Force to close our our fall slate." said head coachÂ
Will Anti, "Air Force has consistently been one of the top teams in the country over the last five seasons. It will provide a great challenge and a good checkpoint for the team as we head into a little break over the holiday season."
This addition will now give the Nanooks six matches in the first-half of their season. They are set to take on TCU this weekend in Fort Worth, Tex. before returning home on Nov. 19 for a matchup with Akron and Kentucky. This Wednesday matchup with Air Force comes before the Winter Air Gun and Olympic Tryouts in Colorado Springs on Dec. 8-13. "We are grateful to Air Force for working with us to add this additional match and create another strong test for both teams and the final Patriot Rifle Conference matchup of 2023." added Anti.Â
What's to Come
The Nanooks return home for a three-team match on Nov. 19 at TVSA. They'll host Akron and Kentucky as their final home-match of 2023. They'll be on the road at Air Force (Dec. 6), Navy (Jan. 20-21), Ohio State/Air Force (Feb. 1) and the PRC Championships (Feb. 3-4). They will not return home until Feb. 17, 2024 when UTEP comes to town for the NCAA Qualifier. The season will end at the NCAA Championships on March 8-9, 2024 at West Virginia.Â
