FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks rifle team defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes for the second-straight day. Today, the 'Nooks used a 15-point difference in air rifle to push past OSU 4723-4715.

Sára Karasová grabbed the first individual aggregate win of the season for Alaska with a score of 1187. Rachael Charles followed in second-place with an 1185. OSU took the next three spots in the final standings before Marina Gonzalez Mazo. She took sixth with an aggregate score of 1176. Elli Spencer followed right behind in seventh with a score of 1175 and Matthew Stout rounded out the top-10 finishes for Alaska with an aggregate of 1161. 

In the smallbore discipline, the Nanooks were outshot by Ohio State 2347-2340. Viktor Kiss of OSU shot the top smallbore score of 590, beating out Karasová by one point. The junior shot a 589 to lead Alaska. Charles followed in fourth with a 588 (42x). Spencer finished the individual smallbore standings in sixth with a 583 (26x). Gonzalez Mazo was the final Nanook in the top-10 for smallbore standings with a score of 580 (27x). Stout and Tobias Bernhoft-Osa were the final Nanooks in the smallbore standings; Stout took 12th with a score of 572 (26x) and Bernhoft-Osa took 14th with a 564 (22x). In air rifle, the Nanooks made up the seven-point deficit from smallbore with a 15-point win in the discipline; they outshot OSU 2383-2368 to grab the eight-point win. 

In air rifle, Karasová shot an impressive 598 (54x) score to lead the Nanooks and all air rifle individuals. Charles followed in second-place with a 597 (50x) and Gonzalez Mazo took third with a 596 (47x). The 'Nooks took the top-three positions before OSU claimed fourth, fifth and sixth. Elli Spencer finished tied for sixth in air with a 592 (47x). Stout followed right behind in eighth-place with a score of 589 (39x) and Bernhoft-Osa rounded out the Nanooks shooters with a 10th-place finish in the air rifle standings; he posted a 585 (34x). The Nanooks do not return to action until Nov. 4-5 at TCU. 

They are not home again until Nov. 19 when they welcome Akron and Kentucky for a three-team match at TVSA.
