FAIRBANKS – The Nanooks swim team celebrated senior day with a win over Westmont College on Saturday, Jan. 21. The 'Nooks picked up their second-consecutive win with a final score of 113-92.

Today they celebrated seniors;
Camille Dayton,
Kyleigh McArthur and
Caroline McCormick.
Â
Just like day one, day two consisted of 11 events; in the first event, the 200-yard medley relay, Westmont grabbed the win. Alaska's team of
Lainey Lioi,
Shannon McCallum,
Ali Pecore and
Sophia Ruppert took second with a time of 1:57.14, finishing second by .12 of a second. In the 1000-yard freestyle,
Payton Wojciechowicz took first-place, earning nine points for the Nanooks. She finished the 1000 in a time of 11:08.97.
Tori Shoemaker finished in third and
Kylee Carter finished in sixth.Â

Ali Pecore grabbed another win on the weekend, this time in the 200-yard freestyle with a winning time of 1:59.82, the only racer sub-two minutes.
Sophia Ruppert followed in second-place with a time of 2:05.56.
Caroline McCormick finished in fourth and
Kaidence Sampsel took seventh. In the 50-yard freestyle,
Lainey Lioi led the way with a third-place finish.
Adeline Berry followed in fourth and
Kyleigh McArthur placed sixth.
Camille Dayton led the way in the 400-yard IM with a second-place finish and time of 4:55.08.
Naomi Burgan followed in third and McCallum grabbed fifth-place.Â

Sophia Ruppert grabbed a win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.44, winning by eight seconds.
Mesa Moran took third and
Kaidence Sampsel grabbed fifth-place.
Ali Pecore returned to first-place in the seventh event, the 100-yard freestyle, using a time of 55.19 to grab the win.
Adeline Berry followed in third and
Kyleigh McArthur took fifth.
Camille Dayton picked up an individual win in the 200-yard backstroke. She posted a winning time of 2:17.09. McCallum took third and Lioi took fifth.Â

Wojciechowicz grabbed a win by .10 of a second in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:28.77 for nine team points.
Mesa Moran followed in third and
Kylee Carter took fifth. In the 10
th-event, the Nanooks had
Caroline McCormick take fourth,
Naomi Burgan take fifth and
Tori Shoemaker take sixth before the 'Nooks won the 200-yard freestyle relay to wrap-up the weekend races.Â

Berry, Lioi, Pecore and Ruppert led the way for the winning relay team, posting a time of 1:43.27. The other Alaska relay teams took third and fifth.

Next up for the 'Nooks swim team is the PCSC Championships in the second week of February.
