BOISE, Idaho – The Alaska Nanooks swimming team is back in the pool this weekend after three weeks off as they compete in the first invitational of the season in the Northwest Collegiate Invite. The invite, hosted by the University of Idaho, will run from Friday to Sunday.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks competed against Simon Fraser on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, falling in both dual meets 108-59 and 100-48 at the Patty Center Pool. Dorka Dancsok won two individual events, the 200 and 400-yard IM, and was part of both the 200 and 400-yard medley relays that took the top spot.
The weekend was highlighted by Dancsok's 4:28.39 in the 400-yard IM, which set a new pool record for the event and was good for an NCAA B Cut.

- McKenzie Fazio has the third-fastest time in the PCSC for the 200-yard freestyle, posting a 1:54.15 vs. the Red Leafs.
- Kitti Marton's time of 10:38.35 in the 1000-yard freestyle puts her fourth in the conference. Her 18:23.05 in the 1650-yard freestyle also ranks fourth.
- Cosima Schmiedel sits eighth in the PCSC in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:10.32.
- Dorka Dancsok has the sixth-fastest conference time in the 100-yard backstroke (58.77), set when she led off the 400-yard medley relay vs. Simon Fraser. Her 2:09.66 in the 200-yard backstroke is good for ninth in the conference, right behind Fazio's 2:09.29, which puts her eighth.
- Dancsok ranks third in the PCSC in the 50-yard breaststroke with a 31.20. She is seventh in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, posting times of 1:06.96 and 2:24.45. Her 2:07.73 in the 200-yard IM puts her third in the PCSC, while her 4:28.39 in the 400-yard IM ranks second in the conference and 13th in Division II.
- The 'Nooks have the third-lowest time in the 400-yard freestyle relay after posting a 3:34.81 vs. Simon Fraser. They are tied for third in the 200-yard medley relay with a 1:47.37 and rank fourth in the 400-yard medley relay with a 3:54.58.

Looking Ahead
The Nanooks have one more meet in 2025 with the UNLV Invite on Dec. 15-17. The 'Nooks will not return to the Patty Center Pool until Jan. 16, 2026, when they take on Westmont in their last meets before the PCSC Championships.
