ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Alaska Nanooks swim team wrapped up day one at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships with 72 points and currently sit in 11th-place.
Kylee Carter started the day for the Nanooks, placing 27th-place in the first event of the day, the 1000-yard freestyle. She posted a finals time of 12:03.31. Following a grouping of men's races, the Nanooks were back in the pool for the 200-yard medley relay. The top-finisher for the Nanooks in the medley relay was a team of
Lainey Lioi,
Whitney McArthur,
Adeline Berry and
Emma Corby. The relay team took 11th with a time of 1:50.43.
In the third and final event for the Nanooks,
Shannon McCallum,
Caroline McCormick,
Gabrielle Davy and
Payton Wojciechowicz raced to a ninth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. They posted a time of 8:10.50.
The Nanooks return to action tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. AKT for the 500-yard free, 200-yard IM, 50-yard free and 200-yard relay before more at 3:00 p.m. AKT.
