FAIRBANKS – Brock Anundson, the Director of Athletics for the Alaska Nanooks, announced the hiring of
Lisa Laiti in the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing, Sponsorships and Fan Engagement.
Laiti, a member of the Alaska Athletic Department Admin team from 2019-20, returns after spending the past year as an Administrative Assistant at the Alaska Satellite Facility and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. Laiti will assist in social media marketing, in-game experiences as well as promoting corporate sponsorships.
Laiti is a Fairbanks-native and a former hockey player for the Bemidji State Beavers. She spent two seasons with the Women's WCHA team before returning to the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she earned a B.B.A. in Business and Marketing in May of 2019 and her M.B.A. May of 2021. Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge to UAF athletics, as an alum, former athletics team member, and innovative mind that will do amazing things in her new role. Her infusion of new ideas will assist in enhancing Nanook athletics and allow us to further engage the UAF community and beyond."
Returning to work in athletics is something Laiti has been passionate about her whole life, "I'm so thankful to be back in athletics, I want to thank Brock Anundson and everyone else who made this happen. Being around athletics is something I grew up with so naturally, working in athletics has always been a dream of mine. I'm excited to step into this new position and can't wait to get the seasons rolling."
Laiti's first day was Monday, August 2.
