The Nanooks just completed a RMISA Invitational on Tuesday, Feb. 23 here in Midway, Utah as their lead-up to the NCAA Regionals and RMISA Championships at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. The 'Nooks grabbed 118 team points on day one as
Mariel Pulles finished in sixth overall place.
Kendall Kramer checked-in at 14th place,
Catherine Reed-Metayer finished in 23rd,
Rya Berrigan finished in 24th and
Sage Robine was 28th. On the men's side,
Mike Ophoff finished 11th,
Christopher Kalev finished 12th,
Lukash Platil finished 20th,
Logan Mowry finished 24th and
Patrick Marbacher finished 27th.
On day two, the 'Nooks finished the weekend with 234 team points, finishing seventh. In the women's race,
Kendall Kramer picked-up her first collegiate top-10 finish, finishing ninth.
Mariel Pulles finished 12th, Berrigan finished 22nd, Reed-Metayer finished 25th and Robine finished 29th. The men's side finished up as follows, Kalev in 11th, Ophoff in 15th, Platil in 17th, Mowry in 22nd and Marbacher in 32nd.
RMISA Championships
The Nanooks will look to send qualifiers to the NCAA Skiing Championships in New Hampshire in March. Last season the 'Nooks sent five racers;
Tristan Sayre,
Mike Ophoff,
Logan Mowry,
Anja Maijala and
Mariel Pulles. Unfortunately the NCAA Championships were canceled after the first day had just began. This year, the RMISA Championships are hosting the University of Alaska Anchorage, Montana State, University of Colorado, University of Wyoming, University of New Mexico, University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Denver and the University of Utah. Utah is the host team.
Weather
Midway, Utah on Feb. 25 is currently sunny with a high of 34 degrees. Heading into Friday and Saturday, they are calling for a 50% chance of snow with highs of 37 on Friday and 28 on Saturday and lows of 18 on Friday and 7 on Saturday.
