LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Nanooks swim team finished day one at the Winter Invitational 2021, hosted by La Verne University.
The first event was the 50-yard freestyle.
Nella Pashak was the lone-Nanook to make the finals after posting a prelim time of 24.35. In the finals, she took 13
th-place with a time of 24.46. In the next event,
Emma Corby took third in the finals of the 500-yard freestyle. She posted a finals-time of 5:04.69 after posting a prelim-time of 5:07.09.
Alaska finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle. A team of
Emma Corby,
Lainey Lioi,
Nella Pashak and
Adeline Berry posted a time of 1:38.89. The next relay team of
Naomi Burgan, Berry, Corby and Pashak finished 18
th-place in the 400-yard medley relay.
After the first day, the Nanooks find themselves with 117 points and in ninth-place out of the 13-team field. They'll be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 9:00 a.m.
