Female: Oda Bygdnes, Swim – Bygdnes won first place in the 100-yard butterfly on day three of the PCSC. She was one of many Nanooks to pick up top finishes and personal best times.

Male: Christopher Kalev, Nordic ski – Kalev led the way for the 'Nooks in Salt Lake City with a 24:37.0 finishing time in the 10km classic while at the Utah Invitational.Â

Men's Basketball 10-14, 9-7 GNAC

The men's basketball team wraps up their home schedule this week after a tough two games at home last week. The Nanooks fell to both Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene as Alaska fell down the GNAC standings to sixth place, holding a 9-7 record in GNAC. After the two losses, the Nanooks look forward to senior night and two big matchups with teams also in the hunt. On Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Nanooks take on Anchorage at home, hoping to spoil the Seawolves playoff hopes. After, Alaska will celebrate senior night on Thursday when MSUB comes to town. Games are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. AKT with the Thursday game being the second part of a doubleheader with the women's team.

Women's Basketball 7-18, 2-14 GNAC
LAST: at UAA, at MSUB (L, L) | NEXT: vs. WWU, SFU
The women's basketball team welcomes the Vikings and Clan from the Pacific Northwest. After going on the road to UAA and Montana Billings, the 'Nooks find themselves riding  a four-game losing-streak. Last week they fell to Anchorage 36-90 before falling to the Yellowjackets 59-103. This week, the 'Nooks will wrap up their home portion of the schedule as well, playing on Thursday and Saturday. In game one, the Nanooks will play Western Washington for their annual "Wear Pink" game as we continue the fight against breast cancer. On Saturday, the Nanooks will face Simon Fraser for senior night. Senior night on Saturday is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and the WWU game is the first part of a doubleheader, starting at 5:15 p.m. AKT.

Rifle 5-3, 5-3 PRC
LAST: vs. Air Force, PRC Championships | NEXT: NCAA Qualifiers
The rifle team fought to the last shot, but came up short in the Patriot Rile Conference Championships last weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. After falling to Air Force, 4622-4666 in their final PRC regular-season matchup, the Nanooks finished fourth as a team at the conference championships. This weekend, in El Paso, Texas, the Nanooks will head to the NCAA Qualifiers hosted by UTEP in search of individuals heading to the NCAA Championships in Lexington, Kentucky in mid-March. Individual shooters will be announced later in the week in the Alaska Nanooks Rifle Preview.Â
