SOLDIER HOLLOW, Utah – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team wrapped up the Utah Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15 finishing sixth overall with 195 total points.
On Sunday, the Nanooks men's and women's teams raced a 10km classic with the men's team picking up 47 points and the women grabbing 48 of their own.
Christopher Kalev was the top finisher for the men's team in the 10km Classic, putting up a time of 24:37.0. Just behind him in 19
th place was
Mike Ophoff who finished 2.7 seconds behind him with a time of 24:39.7.
Lukash Platil was the next Nanooks to finish the race, grabbing a 21
st overall finish with a time of 24:50.0 and grabbing 14 points for the Nanook men's Nordic ski team. Tristain Sayre and
Logan Mowry rounded out the pack for the 'Nooks with a 24
th and 27
th overall finish.
Mariel Pulles was the first finisher for the women's team with a time of 28:38.5 and a 16
th place finish for 18 points. Right behind her,
Anja Maijala finished 17
th with a time of 28:39.2.
Catherine Reed-Metayer finished 25
th with a time of 30:26.6.
Hannah Dueling and
Sage Robine finished in 27
th and 30
th to cap off the race for Alaska.
