FAIRBANKS, Alaska –
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team will play on their home court 13 times throughout the 2019-20 campaign, as second-year head coach Kerri Nakamoto announced Alaska's schedule for the upcoming season on Tuesday.

Alaska will kick-off the season in Anchorage, taking on California Collegiate Athletic Association's San Francisco State University on Saturday, Nov. 9 before taking on PacWest foe Chaminade on Sunday, Nov. 10 in a crossover series hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage. Both nonconference matchups will take place at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Nooks will then head to the Golden State for a pair of nonconference games, heading to La Mirada, California for a bout against Biola on Thursday, Nov. 14 before heading to San Diego to take on Point Loma on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Alaska Nanooks will then return to Anchorage to compete in the annual Seawolf Hoops Classic, hosted by UAA at the Alaska Airlines Center. Alaska will face the Westminster Griffins on Friday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. AKT before taking on the University of Wisconsin at Parkside Rangers on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. AKT.

The Mt. McKinley State Bank North Star Invitational returns for the second-straight year after taking a break in the 2017-18 season and will take place Nov. 28-30. The four-team tournament hosted by the Nooks will feature Chadron State (Chadron, Nebraska), Converse College (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Lake Erie College (Painsville, Ohio).

Alaska will face Chadron on Thursday, Nov. 28, Converse on Friday, Nov. 29 and finishing the weekend by taking on Lake Erie on Saturday, Nov. 30. Each of the Nanooks' games will take place at the Alaska Airlines Court at 3 p.m. AKT. Additionally, the two teams not playing Alaska on a specific day, will face one another at 1 p.m. AKT each day of the tournament.

After the Mt. McKinley State Bank North Star Invitational, Alaska will play nothing but Great Northwest Athletic Conference contests for their final 20 games of the season. The Nanooks open conference play at home against Western Oregon on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Due to a new constructing of basketball schedules by the GNAC, there will be seven double-headers between the Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team and men's basketball team this season. Alaska basketball double-header dates include Dec. 5, Dec. 7, Jan. 9, Jan. 11, Jan. 30, Feb. 1 and Feb. 20. The women will always play first (5:15 p.m. AKT on Thursday games, 1 p.m. AKT on Saturday games) followed by the men (7:30 p.m. AKT on Thursdays, 3:15 p.m. on Saturdays).

There is also one Alaska Nanooks triple-header this season, with women's basketball, men's basketball and hockey all competing at home on Saturday, Jan. 11. The Alaska women will face Central Washington at 1 p.m. AKT, followed by the men taking on Western Washington at 3:15 p.m. AKT and closing-out the day with the hockey team hosting Lake Superior State at the Carlson Center at 7:07 p.m. AKT.

The Nanooks will face in-state rival Alaska Anchorage at home on the Alaska Airlines Court on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. AKT.

Alaska's final regular season game at home will be against the Simon Fraser Clan on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. AKT. The game will also serve as Senior Night.

 The 2019-20 GNAC Women's Basketball Championships will take place Mar. 5-7 at the Brougham Pavilion in Seattle, Washington, hosted by the Seattle Pacific Falcons. To earn a spot in the GNAC Championships, the Nooks will have to conclude the regular season sitting within the top-six spots of the league standings.

All home games and conference road contests during the 2019-20 season will feature live video with play-by-play commentary and live statistics, available through the Alaska Nanooks Stretch Internet Portal. Information on season packages, as well as single-game ticket prices, will be made available to the public soon.

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team finished the 2018-19 season with a 4-22 mark overall, going 1-19 in GNAC play.
