Setting the Standard
For the first time in program history, the Alaska Nanooks will be hosting the PRC Championships since joining the league in 2013. Additionally, this year's conference championships will be the first time Alaska has hosted both smallbore and air rifle in the gymnasium. Alaska has hosted two NCAA Rifle National Championships (2007 and 2015), but the smallbore portion has always been held in the E.F. Horton Rifle Range, while air rifle was hosted in the gym.

Conference History
Alaska has only won two PRC team championship titles, in 2014 and 2015. The Nanooks only have one individual conference champion in Soren Butler, who won the smallbore title in 2016.

Patriot Rifle Conference Members
The Nanooks will play host to five other PRC members this weekend, including No. 4 Air Force, No. 17 Nevada, No. 14 Ohio State, No. 1 Texas Christian University and No. 18 University of Texas at El Paso.
