CoSIDA Release

FAIRBANKS, Alaska
– On Thursday, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released their 2016-17 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, which tabbed Alaska Nanooks senior forward Jordan Wilson as one of five selections to the women's NCAA Division II District Eight team.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The NCAA DII District Eight features the California Collegiate Conference, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the Pacific West Athletic Conference.

Wilson, an Elementary Education major with a 3.94 cumulative GPA, is one of three selections from the GNAC to the women's District Eight team, joining Montana State Billings' Tiana Hanson and Seattle Pacific's Jordan McPhee. Rounding out the District Eight selections is California State at Chico's Whitney Branham and California Baptist's Cassidy Mihalko.

At the time of article, Wilson leads the Nanooks and ranks sixth in the nation in scoring, averaging 21.1 points per game and ranks second in the GNAC and eighth in the nation in field-goal percentage, converting on 59.1 percent of the shots she's taken this year. The Henderson, Colorado native also boasts an 85.2 percent free throw percentage (104-of-122) and has produced 20-or-more points in 13 of Alaska's 21 games this season, including four 30-point games. Wilson has also collected two double-doubles this season.

Currently, Wilson has recorded 1,659 career points as a Nanook, ranking her third on Alaska Women's Basketball's All-Time Scoring Leader list and sixth on the GNAC's All-Time Leading Scorer's list. As of Feb. 4, Wilson has now posted 600 rebounds for Alaska.

Wilson will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team is on the road this week, taking on the Central Washington Wildcats tonight at 6pm AKST.
