Stanton was a four-year member of the Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team and still remains one of the most dominate Nanooks in program history. Stanton won All-Continental Divide Conference honors as a freshman (1986-87) and sophomore (1987-88). Stanton still holds the single-game record for points with 39, which also included a program-high 17 field-goals against Northeastern Illinois.

"I think I'm still absorbing it," Stanton replied when asked about what it means to be inducted into the Nanook Hall of Fame. "It's very intimate. You know, I have a long history with this university, between my husband and I, we have five degrees from UAF. I've spent so much time here at the Patty Center, this is a house of memories, for not just me, but for my family."

Sfraga concluded, "Through the wins and losses and hearing the personal stories of what UAF Athletics has done for individuals and teammates, it's invaluable to this institution. I want to congratulate all of our inductees and thank everyone who's been involved in this wonderful event."
