A four-year member of the Alaska Nanooks rifle team, Rawlings is one of the most decorated Nanooks in the program's already-impressive history. Rawlings was a two-time individual NCAA National Champion in 2004 and 2005, while also helping the Nanooks to three team National Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Currently, Rawlings resides in Fairbanks where he is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the United States Army, stationed out of Ft. Wainwright.

"Being a student-athlete here at UAF and now being a member in the Army, one thing I've learned about leadership is that it's not something you're born with. People help you learn how to absorb it. Leadership is the passion to express your priorities," Rawlings replied to Sfraga when asked about his experiences in both the Army and as a student-athlete have helped him.
