Parrish West

Parrish West is in his first season with the Nanooks women's basketball season.

"Parrish brings a wealth of knowledge both on and off the court to our women's basketball program." Says Anundson, "His coaching and leadership style will be a great compliment to coach Craig's program, as we are both excited to welcome back a former Nanook. I believe Parrish will show incredible dedication to our athletic goals and student-athletes, as he dives right into the start of the season."

West, a Nanook-star in 2009-10, 2010-11, rejoins his old stomping grounds after a decade away. In his first season, West grabbed one GNAC Player of the Week honor while leading the team in scoring, averaging 22.3 points per game through 12 games played. The next season, West returned even better as the 6'5" forward posted 27.2 points per game, leading the NCAA DII and GNAC in scoring while also setting a new school single-season scoring record. He tied the all-time single-game scoring record, posting 43 points on Jan. 20, 2011 against Saint Martin's, recorded 13 games with 30 or more points, including seven-straight and was named the team MVP, First-Team All-GNAC, Daktronics West-Region All-Star and 2011 Daktronics National Player of the Year.

"I am extremely blessed to have Parrish join my coaching staff. He was a wealth of knowledge as one of the top players to come out of UAF, as a high school coach and as a pro-trainer. He knows the GNAC well and will be instrumental in helping build our program." Added head coach Jessie Craig

West's first day with the program was Monday, Oct. 4.
