Prior to Alaska: Played four years of high school basketball and three years of track… Named District 16AAA All-Conference and a Memphis Senior All-Star in 2008… Served as Team Captain in 2008, leading Memphis Central to a 16AAA District Championship and the MIAA Memphis City Championships… Averaged 13.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 4.2 blocks per game over his career, highlighted by a 32 point and 14 rebound performance in 2007 against Craigmont High…Named All-Metro, All-State and Best Male Thrower in discus in 2007… Discus champion at TSSAA District and Regional Championships… Placed 3rd in discus at TSSAA State Championships.

Personal: Son of Roy Shotwell, Jr., and Jacqueline Shotwell… Majoring in Sociology with the intent of becoming a college professor.
