FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks are excited to announce a transformative $500,000 gift from ConocoPhillips Alaska in support of the Alaska Nanooks hockey scoreboard project. This anchor gift propels the initiative forward and launches the final fundraising effort to raise the remaining $300,000 needed to complete the project.

The contribution from ConocoPhillips Alaska, combined with other early supporters, has put this final goal within reach and made a new scoreboard for Alaska Nanooks hockey possible in 2027. The current scoreboard is over 20 years old and is well beyond its life expectancy. A new scoreboard will increase reliability and the scope of technology. It will also dramatically enhance the fan experience at every game, boost recruiting and visibility for our athletes, and modernize the venue for the next era of Alaska Hockey.

"This generous gift will make an immediate and lasting difference for both our current players and the student-athletes we hope to recruit to Alaska," said head coach Erik Largen. "It strengthens our ability to provide a first-class experience and retain talented young men who share our commitment to excellence. The Alaska Nanooks are launching the final phase of the fundraising campaign today with a goal of $300,000 by December 22, 2026. This will enable the installation of the new scoreboard before the close of the 2026-27 season. Donors can visit the Scoreboard Campaign website and make their donation today. A donor wall will be installed at the Carlson Center, where businesses and individuals will be recognized on a tiered basis, beginning with donations of at least $1,000.
