Marisa Sharrah serves as the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations and the Senior Woman Administrator for the Alaska Nanooks. A proud UAF alumna with over two decades of ties to the University, she joined the athletics department in 2023 to lead external operations and was designated the SWA role in 2025. Sharrah is passionate about the sustainability and growth of UAF athletics and focuses on using the athletics program to deepen the bond between the UAF campus and the Fairbanks community.
Sharrah brings a wealth of executive leadership and development experience to the Nanooks. Prior to joining UAF, she served as the Development Program Manager at the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation, where she directed comprehensive fundraising programs, managed major corporate gifts, and executed large-scale events. Before her time at the Foundation, Sharrah was the President and CEO of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2021, overseeing the organization's strategic planning, daily operations, and advocacy efforts. She also spent 15 years at Flint Hills Resources of Alaska, eight of which were spent leading community relations.
A dedicated community leader, Sharrah’s presence is felt throughout Fairbanks. She has served on the UAF Chancellor's Board of Advisors and the Alaska Nanooks Hockey Transition and Steering Committee, and has been highly involved with the Fairbanks Community Food Bank, Stand for Alaska Coalition, Arctic Winter Games, Go Red for Women Fairbanks, and the Fairbanks Women's Hockey Association.
