FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey team has announced the signing of Seth Fryer, a defenseman from Victoria, B.C. Fryer has spent the past three and a half seasons with the Victoria Royals in the WHL.

"Seth brings a unique combination of size, reach, and composure to our blue line," said head coach Erik Largen. "At 6-7, he defends exceptionally well, moves the puck with confidence, and plays a physical game without sacrificing positioning. He's the type of defenseman every team wants to build around." Fryer first joined the Royals in the WHL after 39 games with the Peninsula Panthers in the VIJHL. In his first season with Victoria, he skated in just nine games, but in year two he manned the blue line in 57 games, posting seven points on one goal and six helpers. He made an appearance in four postseason games in 2023-24. 

Fryer's third season with the Royals was a career-year as he appeared in 67 games and posted a career-high 13 points. He scored one goal and added 12 assists while collecting 68 penalty minutes. He skated in 11 postseason games for the Royals in 2024-25 and had two points, one goal and one assist, six penalty minutes, and a +1. This past season he skated in 62 games and scored two goals and seven assists for nine points. He added 114 PIM. 

Seth Fryer is 6-7, 209 pounds and a right-handed shot. 

Additional signings will be announced in the coming days and weeks for the Alaska Nanooks hockey team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
