Nanooks Drop Game One at Cornell on Friday Night

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Nanooks hockey team fell in game one of their two-game series at Cornell. With the loss, Alaska moves to 5-12-1 this season.

How it Happened
The Big Red got on the board first, scoring 2:48 into the first period on an Aiden Long goal. Alaska found the equalizer at the 14:00 mark of the first on the power play. Peyton Platter and Nathan Rickey shared the puck before finding Michael Citara to the left of the net. The wing entered the slot and snapped a shot past Cornell netminder Alexis Cournoyer.

The tie carried into the second period but 6:52 into the middle stanza Chase Pirtle scored the eventual game-winner. Cornell added one more in the second to make it 3-1 heading into the third. Unfortunately, in the third, the Big Red added four goals, two on the power play, to earn the 7-1 victory.
