FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks women's cross country program had two student-athletes named to the 2024–25 Academic All-America® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Rosie Fordham and Kendall Kramer both earned Academic All-America honors after standout seasons on the course and in the classroom. Fordham, now a two-time honoree, earned Second Team Academic All-America recognition, while Kramer was named a First Team Academic All-American — the first such honor in program history.
Kramer capped off a historic senior season in 2024, competing in seven races and producing the most decorated year in Nanooks cross country history. She opened with a win at the Seawolf Throwdown and followed with runner-up finishes at the Forest Frenzy, Bill Roe Classic, and Lewis Crossover. Kramer then captured her third straight GNAC Championship title, earning GNAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors. She went on to place second at both the NCAA Division II West Region Championships and the NCAA Division II National Championships, securing the best national finish ever by a Nanook.
A biological sciences major, Kramer maintained a 3.89 GPA while collecting All-Region and All-American honors. In addition to her cross country recognition, she was also named a First Team CSC Academic All-American in the Women's At-Large category last week.
Fordham, a senior chemistry major with a 3.76 GPA, earned Second Team Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year. She matched Kramer stride-for-stride throughout the season, finishing no lower than eighth in any of her seven races. Fordham placed second and first, respectively, in the two UAA head-to-head meets, followed by fourth-place finishes at both the Bill Roe Classic and Lewis Crossover. She earned All-GNAC honors with a runner-up finish at the conference championships, then won the NCAA Division II West Region title with a personal-best 6k time of 19:52.7, earning West Region Runner of the Year honors. At nationals, Fordham placed eighth overall, adding All-American honors to her decorated career.
Together, Fordham and Kramer represented half of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's honorees on this year's Academic All-America teams. They joined Seattle Pacific's Annika Esvelt (First Team) and Central Washington's Emy Ntekpere (Second Team) as GNAC recipients.
