Nanooks Fall in Series Finale at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Nanooks hockey team (2-8-0) fell to the Princeton Tigers (2-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) on Saturday, Nov. 1. The 6-3 final score included a total of seven goals scored in the third period.

How it Happened
The Nanooks and Tigers skated to a 0-0 tie through the opening 20 minutes. In the first, Calvin Vachon, netminder for the Nanooks, made 15 saves to keep Princeton at bay. In the second, the Tigers struck first. Jaxson Ezman scored 9:51 into the middle stanza to make it 1-0 on home ice. Chase Dafoe answered right back, though, scoring to the side of the crease on the power play. Michael Citara and Peyton Platter picked up the assists on the equalizer.

The 1-1 tie carried into the action-packed third period. Brendan Gorman picked up a power-play goal for the Tigers to take a 2-1 advantage 2:12 into the third. The Nanooks quickly answered back on another Chase Dafoe power-play goal, his second of the night. Nathan Rickey and Citara picked up the assists on the second goal of the night. Nearly seven minutes later, Princeton answered again, taking a 3-2 lead, but Alaska answered back quickly one final time. For the third time tonight, the Nanooks scored on the power play on a Peyton Platter goal, his second of the season.
