Nanooks Drop Game One at Princeton 5-2

PRINCETON, NJ - The Nanooks hockey team (2-7-0) fell to the Princeton Tigers (1-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) on Friday, Oct. 31 in the Hobey Baker Memorial Ice Rink.

How it Happened
Alaska fell behind early and tried to pull back to even, but the deficit was too much as they fell 5-2 on Halloween Night. Kai Daniells scored first for the Tigers, making it 1-0 13:36 into the opening period. The 1-0 lead stood into the second period but was extended to 2-0 only 2:07 into the second when Miles Gunty extended the Princeton lead. The Nanooks made it a ballgame 15:26 into the second when Jhett Larson scored his first-career goal, cutting the deficit in half at 2-1.

The 2-1 deficit went into the third, but 51 seconds into the final stanza, the Tigers extended their lead to two again. Jaxson Ezman made it 3-1 and then made it 4-1 four minutes later.

Haden Kruse scored for the Nanooks, regaining some momentum and making it 4-2 10:48 into the third, but an empty-net goal 14:19 into the third made it a 5-2 final.
