ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Skiers from the Alaska Nanooks men's and women's Nordic skiing teams competed in the U.S. Nationals classic sprint on Saturday at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
On the women's side, Kendall Kramer made it to the semifinal round of the race. Kramer advanced to the quarterfinals after posting a 3:38.12 qualifying time. She secured a spot in the semifinals with a 3:29.35 in the quarterfinal round, where she would go on to finish 10th overall. Following her in the race were Tabitha Williams in 39th with a qualifying time of 3:49.98, Katharine Brigham in 56th with a 4:06.05 and Lucca Duke in 65th with a 4:37.74. Elsie Weiss finished 36th in the U20 race with a time of 4:04.70.
On the men's side, Cole Flowers also made the semifinals, advancing past the qualifying round with a 3:02.55. He recorded a 2:56.36 in the quarterfinals to move to the semifinals, and his 3:07.15 in the semifinal round gave him an 11th-place finish. Ben Dohlby finished 57th with a qualifying time of 3:13.68, while Aidan Hay posted a 3:14.59 in the qualifying round to place 59th. Blake Hanley finished 37th in the U20 race with a 3:18.82.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow with the classic mass start 20k. The men's race is set for 11 a.m. AKST, while the women follow at 12:30 p.m.
