PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its Player of the Week awards on Tuesday afternoon, with Alaska's Kendall Kramer earning Runner of the Week for women's cross country.
The reigning GNAC and NCAA D2 West Region champion helped the Nanooks take down Alaska Anchorage in the 6k Seawolf Throwdown on Saturday morning, posting a time of 20:42.3 and taking first place in the meet. She finished 12 seconds ahead of teammate Rosie Fordham in second and 50 seconds ahead of the third-place finisher.
"Kendall did a great job executing her race plan and looks to be picking up right where she left off last fall," said assistant cross country coach Conrad Haber, "I'm really excited for what lies ahead."
The Nanooks return to action on Saturday, September 14, when they host Alaska Anchorage in the Blue-Gold meet at the UAF Trails.
