Bellingham, Wash. - The Alaska Nanooks cross country teams made their mark at the Bill Roe Classic hosted by Western Washington University on Saturday, Sept. 28, where two Nanook women finished in the top-five. The women's team took third place overall with a score of 85 compared to the WWU who took first in their home meet with a score of 53. The men's team placed sixth overall out of the ten teams competing finishing with a score of 175.
Running it Back
Senior standout Kendall Kramer made her appearance well known at Hovander Homestead Park placing second in the 6k. Her time of 20:31.9 earned the Nanooks just one point, sealing her spot in the top-five. Fellow standout, Rosie Fordham also found herself in the top-five after racing a time of 20:45.9 and earning the 'Nooks just two points. The next 'Nook across the line was freshman Lucca Duke who placed 27th overall, running a time of 22:04.3.
In the men's 8k race, freshman Ben Browning crossed the line first for the Nanooks, placing 35th overall and racing time of 25:16.9. Just a minute later, Ben Dohlby of the 'Nooks joined Browning with a time of 26:13.1 earning the team 35 points. Senior Koen Ross followed after Dohlby with a time of 26:21.3, earning the team 38 points.
