FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Michael Li as its new Athletics Administrative Assistant & Ticketing Coordinator.
Li joins the Nanooks after gaining extensive experience in professional and collegiate athletics, most recently serving as an Account Executive with Lexington Sporting Club, where he worked across ticket sales, community partnerships, group sales and game-day operations for the club's USL Championship and Gainbridge Super League teams.
In his role with Lexington Sporting Club, Li utilized multiple ticketing and customer relationship management platforms while managing VIP and premium seating experiences and collaborating with marketing, community relations and operations staff on match-day activations, sponsor promotions and group experiences. He also helped establish the club's "Congo for LSC" supporters' group and worked with cultural and nonprofit organizations to expand the club's community reach.

"His enthusiasm, experience, professionalism, and passion for serving others make him an outstanding fit for this role. Li also brings collegiate athletics experience from his time with TCU Athletics, where he worked with the Frog Club as a Game Day Operations and Donor Experience Intern. His responsibilities included hosting donors and sponsors, leading hospitality crews, planning promotional events, organizing inventory, analyzing reports, designing materials, and preparing premium seating areas.
A former NCAA Division I track and field and cross country student-athlete at TCU and Jacksonville University, Li earned his bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Studio Art from TCU. He also brings experience in youth sports administration, having founded Capital Sharks FC in Beijing, China, where he led operational planning, partnerships, fundraising, recruiting and program development while organizing four youth tournaments featuring more than 400 participants.
"In the summer of 2024, I drove my camper van from Florida to Alaska as part of a summer road trip," said Li. "Since then, finding my way back to the state has been a goal of mine. I am beyond excited to join the Nanooks family and work alongside an incredible team. I look forward to immersing myself in this new environment and putting Fairbanks on the map!"
As Athletics Administrative Assistant & Ticketing Coordinator, Li will support the Nanooks' ticketing operations, administrative functions and game-day experiences while helping enhance the overall experience for Alaska Nanooks fans and the Fairbanks community.
