Former Nanooks Goalie, Gustavs Davis Grigals, Signs One-Year, Two-Way Contract with Nashville Predators

FAIRBANKS - The Nashville Predators of the NHL announced the signing of former Nanooks goaltender, Gustavs Davis Grigals, this past Friday. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the organization for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

Grigals has spent the last year in his first season as a professional. He's posted an 8-15-0 record in net, adding a 3.56 GAA and .900 save percentage. He's made 27 total appearances for the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL. Alongside his time in the ECHL, Grigals appeared in his AHL debut on Dec. 31, 2023 with the Milwaukee Admirals. 

During his seasons with the Nanooks (2018-2022), Grigals owned a 25-26-6 record. He made 1505 total saves in the blue and gold, posted a 2.6 GAA and .912 save percentage. He also posted four shutouts for the Nanooks in net, two coming in 2019-20 and two coming in his final season, 2021-22. 21-22 also saw his most time in net for Alaska as the Latvian-native went 13-15-2 with two shutouts in 31 appearances and starts. He made 819 saves, had a GAA of 2.42 and a save percentage of .919. His two shutouts that season came against RPI on Dec. 11, 2021, a 4-0 win, and Jan. 29, 2022 at Vermont, a 3-0 win. He made a career-high 46 saves on Nov. 23, 2018 at Michigan Tech.
