FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks volleyball team has announced the signing of Kellan Flynn, a 5-8 libero/defensive specialist out of Marietta, Ga.
"Kellan is going to join our growing list of great liberos," said head coach Brian Scott on Alaska's newest signing. "She comes from one of the best club programs in the country and has a great knowledge of the game. She will immediately impress fans with how easy she makes serve receive and defense look. She is a great fit for our team culture and will have a great career at UAF."
Flynn will be a freshman in 2025; she joins the Nanooks from Hillgrove High School in Georgia. During her time at Hillgrove, she earned 2023 Georgia 7A State Co-Player of the Year and 2024 AVCA All-Region accolades. She was also a three-time All-State honoree, including two First Team selections in 2023 and 2024. Flynn totaled 1,869 career digs and ranks in the top 10 in Georgia High School Association (GHSA) history in career digs per set at 4.5. She also played at A5 Volleyball Club in Roswell, Ga., where she was named a 2022 USAV All-American and helped lead the team to the 2022 15U USAV national championship.
Academically, she was a First Team AVCA Best and Brightest honoree in 2024 and an AAU Academic All-American in 2022. Flynn was a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta club and a three-time Principals Honor Roll recipient.
She is the daughter of Michael and Erin Flynn and has one sibling, Annie. She plans to study Civil Engineering at UAF.
