Nordic Ski Announces the Signing of Aidan Hay for Upcoming 2023-24 Season

FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team has officially added Aidan Hay to their signing class for next year's 2023-24 season. Hay hails from North Vancouver, B.C. and will be a freshman next fall.

"We're very excited to be bringing yet another talented young skier into our program!" Said assistant coach Ben Buck, "When Aidan reached out to us, we were impressed not just with his career results, but with his dedication and maturity when it comes to balancing his training and academic pursuits. The fact that we are attracting athletes like Aidan to Fairbanks speaks volumes about our team's trajectory as we continue to build toward the future. We can't wait to have him up here!"

Hay joins the 'Nooks from Sutherland Secondary and is the son of Andrea and DJ Hay. Hay represented Team Canada at the 2022 Equinor International Junior Camp. He took third-place in the 10k freestyle at the Canada Cup, finished with several top-five results at the Canadian National Championships including a fourth-place finish in the 10k free, fifth-place finish in the 15k free and fourth-place overall finish in aggregate. Finally, Hay also qualified to ski for British Columbia at the 2023 Canada Winter Games.
