FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team has announced the signing of Presley Engelauf, a 6'0" middle blocker from Englewood, Fla. Engelauf joins the Nanooks from Lemon Bay High School and will be a freshman for the 2023 season.
"Presley is a phenomenal multi-sport athlete." Said head coach Brian Scott, "Her athleticism will be fun for the fans to watch. Her competitive nature will push our team to become better and grow as a group. Presley is a great student as well and will represent the school both as a student and an athlete."
Alongside volleyball, Engelauf participated in track and field and weightlifting. For volleyball, she earned the LBHS MVP award, the offensive MVP award, a First Team Sun Preps honor, Coaches Award and was a Herald-Tribune All-Area nominee. In track and field, she was the Athlete of the Year, earned seventh-place in the state high jump, was the track and field MVP and and a Herald-Tribune All-Area nominee. In weightlifting, Engelauf earned a Sun Preps First Team honor while taking third in state in the snatch and fifth in state in the traditional lift. She also earned the Garry Gordon Award.
Academically, she received an AICE Diploma, was third in state for VFW Voice of Democracy, earned a CNA license, was the president of Manta Athletic Leadership Academy, was a part of the Academic Integrity Club, National Honor Society and Science National Honors Society.
Engelauf is the daughter of Jennifer and Shane Engelauf and has one sibling, Reagan. Her father, Shane, played baseball at Cal State San Bernardino.
She intends on studying Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
