The Nanooks are currently riding a three-game slide after winning their season-opener over Hawaii Pacific on Nov. 10 in Fairbanks. They fell in game two of the GNAC/PacWest Challenge sponsored by Mt. McKinley Bank. A week later, the Nanooks traveled to Pueblo, Colo. for a two-game matchup with the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo. In game one, the 'Nooks fell 73-58. In game two, they fell 70-44.
Paul Johnson led the offense both games with 16 points in game one and 14 in game two.

- Abdullahi Mohamed leads the 'Nooks offensively as the senior is averaging 14.8 points per game with a team-high 59 points. He is grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game with 26 on nine offensive boards and 17 defensive.
- Nick Hopkins leads the 'Nooks on the glass with 6.8 rebounds per game on 10 offensive rebounds and 17 defensive. He is adding 6.0 points per game.
- Paul Johnson is averaging 13.0 points per game and is playing the most minutes per game for the 'Nooks. He's shooting 38.9% from deep and 47.4% from the floor.
- Tyriq Luke has emerged for the 'Nooks, the sophomore is shooting a team-high 50% from the floor. Trey Anderson is leading the 'Nooks with four steals and Mohamed has four blocks to lead Alaska.

West Regional Standings
Three GNAC teams appeared in the top-10 for the D2CSC West Regional vote. Saint Martin's received five of the six first-place votes and took the top spot with 59 votes this last week. Central Washington came in tied for fifth with 26 points and Alaska Anchorage was number eight. Western Washington received three votes in the latest poll.
What's to Come
After the trip to the Bay Area, the Nanooks will open up GNAC play on the road at Seattle Pacific (Nov. 30) and Montana State Billings (Dec. 2). They'll then round out 2023 with a trip to Hawaii Hilo for a matchup with the Vulcans on Dec. 17 and then play San Francisco State on Dec. 18 in Hilo, Hi.
