PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) released its Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team today, with 15 players selected as preseason All-GNAC. Among those were Alaska guard Tyriq Luke and guard/forward Davis Crilly.
Luke earned the nod after leading the Nanooks in scoring last season, averaging 15.7 points per game in 2025-26. The guard from Fairbanks shot 44.7% from the floor, 36.8% from three and 76.1% from the line last season, and grabbed 96 rebounds for an average of 3.3 per game. He scored in double figures 24 times, hit 20 points eight times and scored over 30 twice. He hit his season-high in an overtime thriller on the road at Montana State Billings, posting 38 points on 6-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc to help the Nanooks claim a crucial win in their postseason push. That performance earned him GNAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors. He once again broke the 30-point mark in the GNAC Championships vs. Alaska Anchorage, scoring 32 on 13-of-20 shooting.
"It took Tyriq most of the season last year to play to the level he is capable of, simply due to taking a year off to fight cancer," said head coach Frank Ostanik. "The last three weeks of the season he got his feet under him and demonstrated himself to be one of the best players in the GNAC. Tyriq has worked really hard to improve and fully grasps what it means to play hard and defend on every possession. When you couple that understanding with his ability to score, it's easy to see why we are excited for his senior season."
Crilly joins him as an Preseason All-GNACÂ recipient after establishing himself as a key contributor in his first season donning the Blue and Gold. A 2025-26 GNAC All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, the guard/forward out of Casper, Wyo., looks to continue to be a presence for the 'Nooks in his senior season. He averaged 13.7 points per game in his junior campaign, shooting 43.7% from the field, 37.5% from three-point range and 83.1% from the line. He also paced the squad with 20 blocks. Crilly recorded three double-doubles on the season, including a 19-point, 11-rebound effort in an 85-76 win over Western Washington on Jan. 1, 2026. He scored 20 points in both Alaska's GNAC Championship games vs. Northwest Nazarene and Alaska Anchorage.
"Davis has always been a very skilled and talented player, but what sets him apart from others is his willingness to listen to feedback and embrace getting better," noted Ostanik. "His mental toughness has grown by leaps and bounds and he has clearly put in the time on the court and in the weight room. We are very confident Davis will take a big step forward and be the player and leader we need him to be."
The Nanooks play their first game at the Alaska Airlines Gymnasium this weekend, welcoming back former 'Nooks for their Alumni Game on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m.
