LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Nanooks women's basketball team fell to Concordia Irvine 70-53 on Saturday, Nov. 11.
In the first, the Nanooks fell behind 17-10 after shooting 28% from the floor and 25% from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles outshot the 'Nooks going 7-18 from the floor and posting a 60% clip from beyond the arc. In the second, CUI improved and shot 50% from the floor while the Nanooks offense posted a 25% shooting quarter, going 5-20 from the floor.
Out of the break, Alaska posted their best shooting quarter, going 5-11 for 45% and going 33% from deep. CUI outscored them 17-14 to extend their lead. Alaska won the scoring matchup in the fourth 19-17 with a 9-13 performance from the free-throw line while going 5-14 from the floor.
Emma Wass led the 'Nooks with an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double, going 5-9 from the floor. She added an assist and a steal.
Destiny Reimers followed with nine points and seven boards.
Taryn Lindsey went 4-4 from the free-throw line and had eight points in the loss.
