Men's 10k Freestyle Interval | Women's 10k Freestyle Interval | Full RMISA Day One Results
HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team competed in the day one 10k freestyle interval at the RMISA Qualifier at Michigan Tech.Â

The women's Nordic ski team kicked off the day with a 10k freestyle interval start. There were 187 total entries and 32 RMISA participants. The 'Nooks were led by
Kendall Kramer and
Mariel Pulles as in the RMISA standings they took fifth and sixth. In the overall standings, they took 10
th and 11
th. Kramer's finish held a 29:18.0 time while Pulles followed just moments behind with a 29:18.2. The next Nanook to finish was
Rosie Fordham; she took 17
th in the RMISA standings and 50
th-overall with a finishing time of 31:14.2.Â

Sarah Olson cracked the top-25 in the RMISA standings with a time of 32:11.3 – this was good for 64
th-place overall.
Abigail Haas and
Aila Berrigan were the final two finishers for the Nanooks women's team, taking 25
thand 26
th-place in the RMISA standings. They pushed through the line with times of 33:16.6 and 34:04.6. Haas took 97
th-overall while Berrigan came in at 120
th.Â

The men's team followed with a 10k freestyle interval start of their own and it was
Mike Ophoff and
Joe Davies leading the way for Alaska. Ophoff took second in the RMISA standings with a time of 25:12.4. The first-place finisher, Andreas Kirkeng of Denver, finished in 24:27.0. Ophoff's finish was good for fifth-place in the overall standings. Davies followed behind in third place (RMISA) and sixth-place (overall). He crossed the line in a time of 25:13.0. They were the only top-10 finishers for Alaska on day one.
Philipp Moosmayer was the third Nanook to cross the line, taking eighth-place in the RMISA standings and 16
th-place overall with a finishing time of 25:58.7. His placement also earned him the top spot in the U20 category, placing him on the top spot of the podium.Â

Christopher Kalev followed shortly behind in 18
th-place with a time of 26:01.4, good for ninth-place in the RMISA standings.
Josh Baurick checked in as the fifth finishing Nanook with a 31
st-place finish in the RMISA standings and a 91
st-overall finish. He crossed the finish line in 28:08.5. The final men's team finisher was
Max Beiergrohslein, who finished 39
th in the RMISA standings and 246
th in the overall standings with a time of 33:42.9.Â

Alaska is back in action with more RMISA qualifiers on Wednesday, Jan. 4 in the classic sprint beginning at 5:30 a.m. AKT.Â
