PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced their first GNAC XC Weekly Awards of the year and sophomore
Kendall Kramer was the Women's XC Athlete of the Week. This was her second-ever GNAC Weekly Award, winning her first on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021.
"Kendall is a great runner, and an even harder worker." said graduate assistant
Josh Sanderlin, "She won GNAC XC Women's Athlete of the Week in the first week last year as well, so it's cool to see her win it week 1 again this year. Kendall has big hopes for herself this season, so it's nice to get off to a good start."
Kramer led the Nanooks to their third-consecutive head-to-head win over Alaska Anchorage on Saturday, Aug. 27 as the 'Nooks beat UAA 27-30. Kramer took first, racing the 5k event in 18:28, running 11 seconds faster than teammate
Rosie Fordham, who finished the race in second-place with a finishing-time of 18:39.
Delainey Zock took fifth for the Nanooks, crossing the line in 20:29.
Abigail Haas took seventh in 21:17 and
Teegan Silva finished 12th in a time of 26:15, completing the Nanooks scoring.
The Nanooks head down to Anchorage for another head-to-head meet with the Seawolves as UAA hosts the Seawolf Throwdown at Kincaid Park.
