FAIRBANKS – The University of Alaska Fairbanks celebrated their 100
th commencement ceremony on Saturday, April 30, 2022 and 29 2021-22 student-athletes from the Alaska Nanooks earned their degrees.
Over 1,000 graduates were recognized by the University of Alaska Fairbanks at the Carlson Center in two separate ceremonies, including the 29 Nanook student-athletes. All 10 varsity sports were represented on Saturday. A dozen members of the Nanooks hockey team led the way. Volleyball had the second-most as five graduated. Both rifle and swim had three graduates over the weekend, men's ski had two and men's cross country, men's basketball and women's basketball and ski had one representative.
The commencement ceremony was highlighted by 17 student-athletes graduating with honors. Six earned summa cum laude honors (3.9+ GPA);

Daniel Enger (Rifle),
Colleen File (Volleyball),
Filip Fornaa Svensson (Hockey) and
Zephan Ozturgut (Cross Country). Alongside those six, five athletes earned magna cum laude honors (3.75-3.8 GPA);

Roberts Kalkis (Hockey),
Markuss Komuls (Hockey) and
Zosha Krupa (Women's Basketball).
Finally, six student-athletes earned cum laude honors (3.5-3.74 GPA);
