ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Alaska Nanooks men's cross country running team sent a pair of freshman, Jack Cater and Nolan Earnest to Central Washington's Wildcat Winter Run 2021 on Saturday, Feb. 20. 
 
The Nanooks had to battle the elements in Ellensburg, Wash. this weekend, racing on a slightly snow-covered course, 24 degree weather and freezing wind gusts. In their first ever collegiate 8k races, Earnest picked up the high finish, grabbing 13^th place with a time of 30:13.8. Jack Cater followed in 19^th place, finishing the race with a time of 33:30.6. 
 
Alaska has not scheduled another meet past the CWU Winter Run.
