DULUTH, Minn. – The Alaska Nanooks hockey team fell to #2/2 Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Nov. 26. The Bulldogs beat Alaska 5-1, dropping Alaska to 1-10-0.
UMD struck first, scoring 15:13 into the opening-period. Carter Loney picked up the goal, giving Noah Cates and Kobe Roth the assists. This was the lone-PP goal for Duluth on the night. The Nanooks answered 8:49 into the second, scoring their own power-play goal as
Markuss Komuls lit the lamp for the blue and gold.
Jakob Breault and
Brady Risk were awarded the assists.
That was the end of the scoring for the Nanooks as UMD grabbed the lead back 10 minutes later as Cates found his own goal. After grabbing the 2-1 lead heading into the third, the Bulldogs played add-on in the third period, scoring three more goals to win it 5-1.
The Nanooks and Bulldogs will face each other one more time tomorrow at 3:07 p.m. AKT.
